On June 13, 1981, Shavers Plus opened at 1360 Central Avenue in Dubuque, IA.

Shavers Plus was dedicated to providing small appliance repair and sales of new small appliances.  This included shavers, coffee makers, hair dryers, lamps, and a variety of other small and personal appliances.

From the beginning, Shavers Plus included a key cutting counter and a selection of several thousand of the most popular household and automotive keys.

Over time, locks and other security accessories were added.

Through opportunity and necessity, The Locksmith Express was born to serve the security needs of the Tri-State Area.
